In the Miramar, Florida, area, Excel Security offers the best security guard training. Our teachers work hard to make sure that our students do well and to prepare them for jobs in security in the future.

Our security training classes for both armed and unarmed students are open to people from Broward County. In Miramar, Florida, our three-day classroom and hands-on training program prepares people for jobs in the security business. If a student finishes our security licensing program and does well, he or she can apply for a license to carry security guns of classes D and G.

To become an Armed Security Guard in the State of Florida

Division of Licensing Requirements:

• • The applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
  • The applicant is required 28 hours of training in a state certified facility.
  • The applicant is required to take firearms training.
  • The applicant must have a health certificate clearance from a doctor. (Physical Examination)
  • The applicant is required target training and handgun marksmanship.
  • The applicant is required ammunition training and firearms care.
  • The applicant must submit fingerprinting & passport size photo.
  • The applicant must undergo an FBI fingerprint background check.
  • The applicant must have no record of any substance abuse

All Student Must Have or Uptain a Class “D” License First to Apply for a Class “G” License

The Florida Statewide Firearms “G” Course will teach students firearms safety, the principles of marksmanship, firearms mechanics and liability. Skill development shall include marksmanship fundamentals, loading and unloading, the 4-step draw and clearing malfunctions.

Every day, our knowledgeable teachers help students get a Class D unarmed security license, and our knowledgeable weapons instructors help students get a Class G armed security license. After our students have finished their security service, we plan to start a direct recruitment drive for them. Completion of Course

After courses are completed, a Certificate of Proficiency will be disbursed for successfully completing this course. Applications must be submitted to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing.  Applications will be processed within 60-90 days of submission, afterwards initial license (hard copy) will be issued and mailed to applicant. Once issued Class “G” License will be valid for 2 years. When the student receives the Class “G” Security License he or she will then be able to work as a security officer or as a private investigator in an armed capacity. An annual 4 hr re-certification is required yearly to keep Class “G” License active.
