In Coconut Creek, Florida, Excel Security offers the top security guard instruction. Our teachers put in a lot of effort to make sure that our students are successful and ready for careers in security.

Residents of Broward County are welcome to sign up for our security education courses for both armed and unarmed students. In Coconut Creek, Florida, we provide a three-day classroom and practical training course that prepares participants for careers in the security sector. A student may apply for a license to carry security weapons of classes D and G after successfully completing our security licensing program.

To become an Armed Security Guard in the State of Florida

Division of Licensing Requirements:

• • The applicant must be at least 18 years of age.
  • The applicant is required 28 hours of training in a state certified facility.
  • The applicant is required to take firearms training.
  • The applicant must have a health certificate clearance from a doctor. (Physical Examination)
  • The applicant is required target training and handgun marksmanship.
  • The applicant is required ammunition training and firearms care.
  • The applicant must submit fingerprinting & passport size photo.
  • The applicant must undergo an FBI fingerprint background check.
  • The applicant must have no record of any substance abuse

All Student Must Have or Uptain a Class “D” License First to Apply for a Class “G” License

The Florida Statewide Firearms “G” Course will teach students firearms safety, the principles of marksmanship, firearms mechanics and liability. Skill development shall include marksmanship fundamentals, loading and unloading, the 4-step draw and clearing malfunctions.

Our qualified weapons teachers help students get a Class G armed security license every day, and our trained instructors help students obtain a Class D unarmed security license. Once our students have finished their security duty, we wish to start a direct recruiting effort for them. We make every effort to assist our students in establishing a strong foundation for a career in security and obtaining the necessary security licenses. Completion of Course

After courses are completed, a Certificate of Proficiency will be disbursed for successfully completing this course. Applications must be submitted to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing.  Applications will be processed within 60-90 days of submission, afterwards initial license (hard copy) will be issued and mailed to applicant. Once issued Class “G” License will be valid for 2 years. When the student receives the Class “G” Security License he or she will then be able to work as a security officer or as a private investigator in an armed capacity. An annual 4 hr re-certification is required yearly to keep Class “G” License active.
